Haematology

Our consultant haematologists investigate and treat conditions affecting the blood and blood-forming tissues.
 
This includes the treatment for general and malignant haematological disorders including leukaemias, lymphomas and myelomas. Anaemias and bleeding disorders are also treated by our specialists, and anticoagulation therapy is provided for patients who are being treated for heart conditions or who may be at risk of heart attack or stroke.
 
Procedures performed include bone marrow biopsies, supervision of oral and intravenous chemotherapy, blood product support, intravenous immunoglobulin, phlebotomy for polycythaemia and iron overload, anticoagulation therapy.
